Hi DIY folks,
a very nice idea to keep my tea heated by instructables.com:
Hot Plate (from http://www.instructables.com).
Heat your cup by shortcut your old or broken CPU with USB power.
and reversing the polarity, more current drawing than allowed … flank speed ahead!
ok, don’t let the poor hub burn down – lets heat the cup, not the hub !
ahhhh, yes very good.
next time, better use a 90 mm fan-grill and have more space for the cup 😉
anyway, have fun !
The heat part is an old CPU.
i tried the + and – usb power supply on different cpu pins until it draws about 500 mA current.
The result was, the cpu heats up with about 2.5 watt of USB power.
What is the heat parts inside?
Hi David,
i were lucky to hit some pins without long trying with about 500 mA.
but simply try different pins or pingroups until you find some nice current.
have fun!
what pins did you use
